Full Moon in Libra, April 8th 2020

The second supermoon of the year will peak in Libra tomorrow morning at 3.35am. It’s a time to focus on how we relate to others and gives us a chance to release any tensions in this area. As with all Full Moons, but particularly this one, emotions will come to a head.

In last month’s BLUE Ivory Gloss box the crystal chosen for this Full Moon was bloodstone. Due to its strong grounding properties and a connection to the root chakra, bloodstone is most frequently used to encourage resilience when facing a difficult situation.

The essential oil for this Full Moon was ylang ylang which is the signature scent for Libra and encourages a focus on self love, something we could all spend a little time on this week!

This year was always going to be intense with the ongoing Pluto-Saturn conjunction which peaked in January around the time of the covid-19 outbreak.

As with any intense Pluto-Saturn transit, the reward we receive will be huge, but the process of transformation, of tearing down old structures (they met in Capricorn, the sign of business, government, corporations) will be just a little stressful.

Tonight’s Full Moon links into a tricky, minor alignment with Neptune which is associated with infection and pandemics, suggesting things are coming to a head.

It also coincides with a tense alignment between Uranus and Mars which peaks today. This is a jarring and surprising aspect, tapping into the more unpredictable nature of Mars.

However, Mercury will be sextile to both Jupiter and Pluto, a lovely aspect which leads to solutions and an increase in positive flow of communications. This helps us to make sense of all that is going on around us, leading to insights and positive change.

There is always light at the end of the tunnel. Jupiter is aligned with Saturn and Pluto which encourages expansion and good will, although the energy of Jupiter can also expand the processes that are difficult.

How are you feeling at the moment? This Full Moon will amplify these feelings, but as with all Full Moons when the Moon is directly opposite the Sun, it offers a chance to release those feelings.

The current planetary energy also suggests that teaming together (online of course!) is the key to staying safe and relatively happy during the difficult moon phase. This is a time for protecting, nurturing and healing, of yourself and your loved ones. We are all in this together.

A meditation you might enjoy during this full moon is on self love. Light a candle. Sit in a meditative position and meditate on the mantra ‘I am love’. On each in-breath feel your heart chakra expand with soft, green light. On each exhale repeat the mantra ‘I am love’.

This month’s BLUE box is out on 22nd April and will be based around the upcoming Taurus New Moon and the Scorpio Full Moon. If you’re not already with us sign up now to secure your box…
